In a series of recorded videos, 3D Documentation Engineer Si Horton explains differnet features of the new FARO Scene 5.3.
In this video Si explains how you can use the ‘Correspondence Split View’ to match similar areas in neighbouring scans, meaning any missing positioning information problems can be resolved.
CAM2 Measure 10.3 offers a complete contact and non-contact metrology solution. Its new capabilities can be used with FARO’s scanning devices such as the FARO ScanArm for CAD-to-part analysis.
The software is primarily developed for tasks such as the inspection of free and complex forms and soft or flexible materials that are difficult to inspect with a tactile system.
During the 3D Documentation Conference in Andechs the participants are given the opportunity to visit the 3D exhibition in an designated area at the Abbey and meet FARO’s 3rd party partners, who showcase their latest 3D Documentation products.
Yesterday’s impressions from the workshops and brainSTORMING at FARO’s 3D Documentation Conference in Andechs – from the Middle Ages into the bright future of 3D laser scanning…
Between the workshops the participants of the 3D User Conference have the chance to network and exchange knowledge and experience.
The world’s largest event for geodesy, geoinformation and surveying will open its doors again one week from now, Tuesday 8 October 2013. The INTERGEO trade fair and conference cover all the key trends: from collecting geo-based information onto processing and integrated applications.
FARO will present a spectacular novelty. Be there at the world premiere and discover the latest technologies and industry-specific software solutions in the field of portable 3D measurement technology at our booth.
We look forward to welcoming you!

CAM2 SmartInspect software allows measurements without CAD data. The software was developed, focussing on a simple and intuitive operation and on a short learning curve. Even users with minimal knowledge of 3D measuring technology can achieve accurate measuring results in a short period of time.
The basic version of CAM2 SmartInspect has a clear user interface besides the most relevant functions. Actual pictures of components can, for example, be added to every measurement process providing the user an image-based support.
In the pro version of CAM2 SmartInspect the user is shown a 3D live view that serves to present the recorded dimensions to optimum effect. On the one hand it provides the user with a quick orientation. On the other hand, features that measure length, angle or a combination of both, can be recorded directly on the screen.
The automatic feature-recognition function speeds up the measuring process, as it assists the user in processing a measuring sequence with few, if any, clicks.
Another advantage: the software thinks for itself! It automatically suggests a range of functions and commands which might be needed in the course of the measuring process. In this way, inexperienced users get tips and tricks regarding the software’s capability and professionals can use this function to speed up the working process.
